How to apply and remove the Micro Ring Loop Hair Extensions – Watch Instructional Video

Applying micro loop hair extensions is fun and very easy, and they are just as easy to remove. Simply attach by pulling a small amount of your own hair through a micro link which is then clamped down to secure the extension using Dennipep’s Micro Link Pliers, or by using your own standard pliers which you would probably find in a tool box at home. It takes approximately 1.5hrs to complete a full head of hair extensions, and less than 30 minutes to remove them. Simply squeeze the micro ring open and slide your own hair out. To position the same hair, simply slide the ring up the hair shaft when you open it, instead of down the hair, and re-tighten!

Do I have to be a hair extensions specialist to apply them?

Unlike most other long term hair extension methods, the Micro Ring technique has zero to minimal damage potential. To this day it is unheard of for anyone to have complained of having damaged hair from using this method. Dennipep undertake extensive research and testing procedures to ensure we put our brand on only the best and non-damaging hair extension methods, and the micro ring technique is right up there along with the keratin pre-tipped method.

Will this method damage my hair?

This method has very minimal damage to the hair unlike other hair extension methods, (except for clip in hair extension). To this day I have not heard of anyone having damaged hair using this method nor read about it anywhere else. This is quite a safe way of adding semi permanent hair extensions if you don't want to risk damaging your hair!

Will I see or feel the micro links in my head?

Not at all. If you follow the placement guideline in the Image, you will not notice them at all. The rings are very small and colour coded which makes them undetectable. The extensions are also very lightweight and comfortable to wear.

How long will they last?

Up to 3 months with proper care. Follow our "How To Care For My Micro Ring Hair Extensions” to get the most out of your extensions.

How many micro loop hair extension packs do I need?

We understand that sometimes it can be hard to know exactly how many packs you may need to complete a full head of extensions.

In order to help you, we have a simple hair guide below. If you’re still not sure, or just want to be safe, simply purchase what you think you will need, plus an extra pack, and if you don't use that extra pack, just send it back unopened, and we will refund your money instantly, minus the postage. This way, you will still be able to get the job done in the same session, without having to wait for another pack to be sent out to you!

Each pack contains 50 stands of hair and each piece is 8gms in weight.

· Highlights only - 1 pack
· Add volume to existing long hair – full head – 2 packs
· Add length and volume to short hair – full head – 3/4 packs
· Extra thickness and fullness (celebrity style) – full head - 5 packs.

NOTE: If you are planning to add highlights to a full head, simply substitute one of the packs for the highlight color!

How do I pick the right colour for me?

There are 4 ways we can get the hair colour right for you.

  1. Choose the color directly off the screen in front of you……don’t worry if it seems to be a little out, as each color displayed will accommodate
a shade or two above or below it. Pretty easy……if you know that your hair is so dark that it is almost black, but you can see the brown in it still,
then you would be a number 2! If you are a nice chocolate brown color or a little bit lighter, then a number 4 is perfect for you! But, if you do get the wrong color, it is ok……just send it back unopened, and we will send you the right color!
  2. Simply Email us a picture of your hair and our very clever staff members will match the color for you! Too easy!

  3. Send us a swatch of your hair! Cut off only a few hairs, although make it enough for us to have a clear idea of the color you are after. Remember to cut from an inconspicuous place such as at
the back, and under your hair about 2 inches up from the nape of your neck.

  4. Order a Colour Ring from us, which will prove invaluable to you if you wanted to color your hair at any time before buying hair extensions. Just tell the colorist that you are getting that color hair extension and you need them to match it!

How do I care for my micro ring hair extensions

WASHING - We recommend that you use a color safe shampoo and conditioner from your local supermarket (VO5) or preferably the higher quality ones from your salon professional stockist.

To wash the hair, start by wetting your hair and running your fingers through it in a downwards motion to free up your hair. Be sure not to pull too hard on the hair as this will only cause tension on not only the extensions, but your own hair. It is a good idea to just place one hand at the top of the extensions, and hold them whilst using the other hand to run your fingers through it. Then using a comb, still holding the hair with one hand, gently work the comb through the hair from bottom to roots.

Next, apply shampoo to the scalp. Using your fingers in a downwards motion, massage from your scalp and down the hair shaft. Don’t scrunch the hair whilst washing. Just work down the shaft.

Apply the conditioner to the scalp and work it down the shaft with your fingers. Next, grab the comb, and holding the hair at the top again, gently begin at the bottom and work your way to the roots. When done, rinse out the conditioner.

Pat dry your hair, and let air dry or blow dry. As with your own hair, do not iron hair until it is completely dry.

BED - It is recommended that you do not go to bed with wet hair.

To keep hair neat and tidy when you go to bed, we recommend that you braid / plait it, and wrap it with a silk or satin cover for best results. This stops it rubbing on your pillow throughout the night, preventing ‘bed hair’. If you have no wrap, simply leave it braided or tied.

HAIR CARE - We recommend the use of a serum or leave in conditioner to keep your hair soft. Only use the recommended amount advised on each product. Excessive amounts can actually have undesired results.

Where To Position Hair Extensions

Red-

The red area is a no-go zone. Any extensions placed in this area has a high likelihood of being spotted. We’ve all seen bad extensions in the magazines or on the web. They are only visible because they have been placed in these areas.

Blue-

The blue area is safe for those with very thick hair, and who may need to go a little higher for better extension blending.

Yellow-

The yellow/orange sections are safe sections for hair extension placement. By placing the extensions in this area, you will be able to wear the extensions up or down, and style any way you want to without risking the extensions being visible.
